About Us

Our Hotel

Nômade Melides is a family-run Rural Tourism integrated in an idyllic landscape and nestled in a privileged area of the Alentejo coast, in the Melides / Comporta area. Located Just 120 km from Lisbon (about 1h20mins by car), we are 5 km away from Melides village, 15 km from Grândola and 28 km from Comporta. Our region offers a wide range of activities, shops, restaurants, fairs and markets.

At Nômade Melides you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside, relax, hike, bike, birdwatch, as well as breath-taking beaches, such as Aberta Nova (about 9 km away).

In an estate of about 15,000 m2, Nômade Melides is comprised of a traditional Alentejo-style buildings, the 6 apartments lodging and the reception/breakfast area. Each apartment has a spacious porch overlooking our incredibly serene natural pool, where you can swim with small frogs for example. The garden is ample and filled with a diversity of plants and trees, as well as several nooks and crannies that also invite you to spend the day here.

In the indoor and outdoor dining area, we serve a locally-sourced, delicious and varied breakfast every morning.

Enjoy, every morning and without haste, a delicious breakfast prepared with great care sourced regionally and locally: fresh fruits, natural orange juice, Alentejo bread, cheeses, eggs, crunchy croissants, yogurt, granola, milk or a vegetable drink.

We are fully committed to sustainability! It permeates our every facet, from the materials used in our building to our day-to-day operation (more details here). In 2023, we were awarded the Environmental Sustainability award by AHRESP (Portuguese Tourism, Food and Beverage Association).

Your moments here are accompanied the symphony of birdsongs, croaking frogs and rustling tree branches. The scent of pine and other foliage fills the air, carried by a gentle breeze conveying the greetings of the great Atlantic Ocean. This space invites you to tranquility and true slow living, surrounded by nature, which is true luxury in our times. The earth rotates, but it seems to do so more slowly.
